Cobra Ink is one of the most modern tattoo removal systems, using the treatment principle of Q-Switched Nd: YAG Laser Therapy System based on laser selective photothermolysis, the blasting mechanism of the Q-switched laser. 

Cobra is equipped with a Q switched Nd YAG laser with a bi-wavelength of 1064nm & 532nm and the wavelength can easily be switched by the touchscreen and electrical control. The maximum pulse energy for 1064nm is 500mJ  and for 532nm the maximum pulse energy is 200mJ. The laser spot size can also be adjusted from 2mm - 10mm providing precision and accuracy as it passes along the targeted area.

How Does Tattoo Removal Work?

During a tattoo removal procedure, laser light is applied to the tattooed area of the skin. The light is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, leaving the surrounding skin tissue and chromophores unharmed.The tattoo ink particles absorb the laser energy, heat up, and shatter into smaller ink particles.

In the days and weeks following a laser treatment, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade.  Over a series of treatments, more and more of the ink shatters, leaving the skin free of ink. The most common wavelengths used for laser tattoo removal are 1064 nm and 532 nm – they can treat 95%+ of tattoos.

It takes more than one session to remove a tattoo because when you got your tattoo, your tattoo artist applied the ink in layers. Because lasers break the ink pigment into smaller particles, it then takes some time between sessions for your body to flush out the ink. Your skin also needs time to heal.
